Sogemec Assurances is a subsidiary of the “Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec”.

Its first Annual General Meeting was held May 29, 1968.

From its inception, Sogemec Assurances was dedicated to management, both in terms of clerical duties for the affiliated associations and the administrative management of the FMSQ or the Professionals Financial. In addition, Sogemec Assurances quickly became involved in personal and property insurance, in response to an ever-growing demand from its members.

Sogemec Assurances started its activities in 1978 and was incorporated in 1986, following changes to the Insurance Act.

From that time on, Sogemec Assurances has been the choice provider of group insurance plans not only for medical specialists, but also for other professional organizations as well including:

• Fédération des médecins résidents du Québec
• Fédération médicale étudiante du Québec
• Médecins francophones du Canada
• Corporation de services de la Chambre des notaires du Québec
• Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec

Today, our group insurance plans cover over 12,000 members.
